The background of this painting is abstract rather than realistic, a wide variety of blues and greens are used to imply water. The fish are Blue Gills with their colors exaggerated. Blue Gills are fish that swim in Colorado rivers and streams.

Collage paper paintings are created with many layers of acrylic paint, hand-painted paper, old book pages, pencils, markers, and other mark making tools. They are all unique one-of-a-kind pieces. Blue Gills was created on a panel board surface. Similar to a canvas however, it is more stable than a canvas and provides a solid surface for applying many layers. This collage is finished with a semi-gloss varnish, which should reduce UV color damage. Signed, titled and wired on the backside and ready to hang on the wall without a frame. Sides are continuation of the collage. Frame is not included.
