Marta Fivehouse-Niemann is a mixed-media collage artist based in the Denver metropolitan area. Guided by her intuition and experience, she creates painterly compositions from meticulously selected fragments of hand painted papers, book pages, and fiber paper.
Her current body of work centers on the natural world, drawing inspiration from its expansive forms, textures, and light. Through her unique process, Marta translates the movement and color of the natural world into tactile painterly collages.
Growing up in a military family exposed Marta to a variety of different cultures and artistic expressions. Being creative has always been something important to Marta. She won her first school art show in 4th grade. She went on to get a BA in Art Education. Marta taught art in Colorado, Washington, and Germany. She transitioned into full-time creative after a career in art education and raising a family. She has exhibited in juried fine art fairs, and her work is held in private and public collections.
